The line between dreams and the waking world is a fine one for me. My dreamer is aware he is dreaming just as my waking self is aware of the real world. My dreamer often recalls past dreams we have had and has memories of my waking self. To me all these realities are one and the same. Neither is more real than the other. Through my art I get ideas and inspiration from both realms. Ideas and visions flow back and forth and they come from all directions as they play with my sanity. I often get confused as to where I saw and did what. But it really makes no difference because it is all part of the whole. These fantastic flowing realities are an endless form of inspiration for my art and life.
In this collection I explore the landscapes where logic dissolves and the subconscious speaks in the language of color and symbol. The works within Dreams are a visual diary of these nocturnal and waking journeys. I aim to capture the feeling of weightlessness and the strange familiarity of places that do not exist on any map. Often a shape or a hue from a dream will follow me into the sunlight and demand to be painted. Other times a waking thought will manifest in the dream state as a towering figure or a shimmering pattern. This constant exchange creates a bridge between the seen and the unseen. By viewing these pieces you are stepping into a sanctuary where the rules of time and space are suspended. I invite you to lose yourself in these shifting horizons and find your own meaning within the layers. Each canvas is a fragment of a larger story that is still being written in the quiet hours of the night. This is the realm where the impossible becomes tangible and the spirit is free to roam without boundaries.
