Artist Note
The Faceless One is an airbrush recording of a visionary experience relating to losing the ego and finding the universe within. In this visual journal an empty skull floats in the deep reaches of space acting as a gateway rather than a memento of death. Within the hollow expanse of the cranium lies a serene alien seascape with stars rising over a distant horizon. Where the eyes and nose would be a bird figure spreads its wings to represent the flight of the soul as it escapes the prison of the self. Around the skull the air is bursting with flames and life erupting into the void to show that the end of the ego is actually the beginning of true creation. The background is a glowing tapestry of stars and galaxies rendered with the soft light of the airbrush to emphasize the fluid nature of reality. This work serves as a testament to the moment when we stop identifying with our own reflection and realize we are the infinite expanse of the cosmos. It is a map for the seeker who is ready to let go of the mask and become one with the absolute frequency of the multiverse.Â
