Artist Note

Ritual of the Firefly is a recording of a celestial moment where the planets align to trigger a process of divine transformation. In this visual journal a sun spans the bottom of the frame as the earth rises over the horizon while a second sun sits behind the central figure to illuminate the entire sky with its rays. Flames erupt around the earth and rise up to form a butterfly like entity with a female human body who represents the soul in a state of transcendence. She rises like the phoenix from the heat of creation to find her place in a perfect state of beauty and harmony. This work captures the specific instant when the physical world and the spiritual realms meet to birth something entirely new. I wanted to show that our evolution is a sacred fire that burns away the old self to reveal a more vibrant and ethereal form. The alignment of the celestial bodies serves as a clock for the universe marking the time when we are ready to take flight into the infinite. It is a testament to the radiant energy that connects every star to the fire within our own hearts.
