Artist Note
Jimi Hendrix is a visionary recording where the legendary guitarist is deified as a psychedelic creation god with new worlds and realities emanating from his presence. In this visual journal his portrait is rendered in classic blacklight primary colors to capture the electric heat of his music. A vibrant rainbow wraps around his midsection while stars flow within its spectrum to show that his sound is a physical force of nature. Behind him psychedelic drips rise toward the heavens like the fluid motion of a lava lamp while a cosmic debris flow moves through the background to represent the raw material of the multiverse. Within the intricate curls of his hair an entire celestial system is born featuring planets and moons and floating temples that exist on a frequency only he could reach. By cropping the portrait and placing an airbrushed expanse of space behind him I wanted to show the many layers of reality that coexist within a single moment of inspiration. This work serves as a testament to the idea that music is the bridge between the human soul and the infinite architecture of the divine. It is a map for the seeker who recognizes that the stars and the stage are made of the same stardust.Â
